3. The Calcium Chloride would melt the ice and snow. I’m not sure Epsom salt (Magnesium Sulfate) by itself would do anything. Other forms that contain magnesium like Magnesium Chloride and Calcium Magnesium Acetate are effective so Epsom Salt might be effective. Most de-icing products are mixtures of several chemicals. Read the label.
