When is the best time to hire a contractor for installing a concrete patio?
Thank you, I live in VA . I got some estimations for my patio from different contractors and they charged me from $3k-$4K. I was wondering if the timing will make any different in price.
depends on your area… in the northern states when construction dies off in the winter contractors do not have work… if your in the southern states there really is no down time.
Early Early spring or at least get on their calendar as early as possible.
during the planning stages.
A good contractor can help with the layout, suggest easiest and correct ways to do it, tell you about permits, and let you know his time schedule for when the work may be done.
Good luck!
It does depend on the market. If everyone is busy with work, a contractor may ask more for the job, While in a slack period, he may bid less.
Get several more estimates; from general contractors, as well as cement contractors. Be sure to have a list of specifications, so that all bidders on are the same page.
Sounds like you bidders are not too far apart. Check BBB for issues.
